Inflation rises in March from the prior month

Latest reading: Harmonized consumer prices rose 2.7% on a year-on-year basis in March, following a 2.1% increase in the prior month. March's reading was the strongest since January 2025. Relative to the previous month's figures, there were higher price pressures for transportation (+2.9% in annual terms vs -0.6% in February), housing and utilities (+2.6% vs +2.5% in February) and recreation (+1.1% vs +1.0% in February). In contrast, price pressures reduced for restaurants and hotels in March (+4.4% vs +4.5% in February). Finally, the variation in food and non-alcoholic beverages prices was the same as in the prior month (+3.6% in March and February). Meanwhile, consumer prices increased 2.7% in March, following a 2.1% increase in the prior month. Lastly, harmonized consumer prices were up 2.27% in March in month-on-month terms, following a 0.11% rise in the previous month.
