Industrial production falls in April
Latest reading: Industrial production declined 0.4% on a working-day and seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis in April, following a 2.4% increase in the previous month. Relative to the prior month's figures, readings in April worsened for consumer goods (-1.4% on a working-day and seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis vs +1.7% in March), capital goods (+0.1% vs +3.3% in March), intermediate goods (-0.3% vs +3.1% in March) and energy (-0.9% vs +2.0% in March). In working-day and seasonally adjusted year-on-year terms, industrial production increased 2.0% in April, following a 1.9% increase in the prior month.
