Spain: Merchandise trade deficit increases in May
Latest reading: In May, the trade balance was EUR -8.2 billion, following a EUR -5.2 billion figure in the prior month. This was the largest deficit since June 2008. Over the last 12 months, the trade balance summed to EUR -60.6 billion.
Merchandise exports dropped 0.3% in seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms in May, following a 2.2% rise in the prior month. Merchandise imports rose 2.2% in seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms in May, following a 2.7% rise in the prior month.
