Colombia: Economic activity gains steam in May
Latest reading: Economic activity rose 4.1% on a year-on-year basis in May, following a 3.2% rise in the previous month. May’s reading was the strongest since July 2025.
Relative to the previous month’s figures, readings in May improved for agriculture (+0.7% in annual terms vs -2.6% in April) and services (+5.4% vs +4.5% in April). In contrast, the reading for industrial worsened in May (+0.5% vs +1.5% in April).
In seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms, economic activity rose 0.7% in May, following a 0.3% rise in the previous month.
