Angola: Inflation slows in July from June
Latest reading: Consumer prices were up 9.3% on a year-on-year basis in July, following a 10.1% rise in the prior month. July’s reading was the weakest since May 2015.
Relative to the previous month’s data, there were milder price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages (+10.4% on a year-on-year basis vs +10.7% in June), transport (+3.6% vs +15.4% in June), housing and utilities (+10.2% vs +11.1% in June) and clothing (+6.3% vs +6.6% in June).
Finally, consumer prices were up 0.75% in July on a month-on-month basis, following a 0.52% rise in the previous month.
