Angola: Inflation eases further in March
Latest reading: Consumer prices were up 12.4% on a year-on-year basis in March, following a 13.4% increase in the previous month. March’s reading was the weakest since July 2023 and marked the 21st consecutive decline in inflation.
Relative to the prior month’s figures, there were reduced price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages (+12.7% on a year-on-year basis vs +13.6% in February), transport (+16.6% vs +18.7% in February), housing and utilities (+15.5% vs +16.1% in February) and clothing (+10.1% vs +11.6% in February).
Lastly, consumer prices were up 0.55% in March in month-on-month terms, following a 0.52% rise in the prior month.
