Angola: Inflation decelerates in June from May
Latest reading: Consumer prices rose 10.1% on a year-on-year basis in June, following a 10.9% rise in the previous month. June’s reading was the weakest since June 2015.
Relative to the prior month’s data, there were reduced price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages (+10.7% on a year-on-year basis vs +11.3% in May), transport (+15.4% vs +15.7% in May), housing and utilities (+11.1% vs +14.3% in May) and clothing (+6.6% vs +7.4% in May).
Finally, consumer prices were up 0.52% in June in month-on-month terms, following a 0.53% increase in the previous month.
