Austria: Industrial production recovers in March
Latest reading: Industrial production rose 1.5% in seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms in March, following a 0.9% decline in the previous month. March’s reading was the strongest since July 2025.
Relative to the previous month’s data, readings in March improved for capital goods (+6.4% on a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis vs +0.9% in February) and non-durable consumer goods (0.0% vs -0.5% in February). In contrast, readings softened for durable consumer goods (-4.3% vs +7.5% in February) and intermediate goods (+0.8% vs +1.0% in February).
In annual terms, industrial production increased 1.7% in March, following a flat reading in the previous month.
