Belarus: Inflation is stable in April
Latest reading: Consumer prices were up 5.4% in annual terms in April, stable from the previous month’s reading.
Relative to the prior month’s figures, there were higher price pressures for housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (+10.1% on a year-on-year basis vs +2.6% in March) and clothing (+2.5% vs +2.3% in March). In contrast, there were milder price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages (+6.0% vs +7.6% in March) and transportation (+3.6% vs +5.2% in March).
Finally, consumer prices were up 0.80% in April in month-on-month terms, following a 0.60% increase in the prior month.
