Brazil: Consumer confidence drops in July
Latest reading: The seasonally adjusted consumer confidence index published by the Getulio Vargas Foundation (Fundação Getúlio Vargas) dropped to 88.3 in July, following June’s 88.7. The latest reading was below the threshold of 100 that separates optimistic from pessimistic sentiment.
In July, consumers grew less upbeat about their current situations (+84.4 vs 87.0). On the flipside, households grew more positive about the economy in the coming months (+91.5 vs +90.4 in June).
