Brazil: Merchandise trade surplus widens in June
Latest reading: In June, the trade balance was USD +9.8 billion, following a USD +7.7 billion figure in the prior month. Over the last 12 months, the trade balance summed to USD +80.2 billion.
Merchandise exports rose 24.9% in year-on-year terms in June, following 6.1% growth in the prior month. June’s reading was the strongest since November 2022. Goods imports increased 14.4% in annual terms in June, coming on the back of a 5.3% rise in the prior month.
