Chile: Economy rebounds in Q4 2025
GDP reading: Chile’s GDP increased 0.6% on a seasonally adjusted quarter-on-quarter basis in Q4, following a 0.3% contraction in the previous quarter.
Private spending and exports spearhead upturn: Relative to the previous period’s data, readings in Q4 improved for private consumption (+0.9% on a seasonally adjusted quarter-on-quarter basis vs -0.1% in Q3), exports of goods and services (+5.3% vs -3.1% in Q3) and imports of goods and services (+0.1% vs -0.1% in Q3). In contrast, readings worsened for government consumption (-1.5% vs -0.5% in Q3) and fixed investment (+1.0% vs +3.8% in Q3).
On a year-on-year basis, the economy grew 1.6% in Q4, following a 1.7% expansion in the previous quarter.
