Czech Republic: Economic sentiment improves in May
Latest reading: Economic sentiment increased to 102.5 in May, following April’s 101.2. The latest reading was above the long-term average of 100, pointing to a positive near-term outlook for the economy and the highest since October 2025.
In May, sentiment improved in the industrial sector (-1.5 vs -3.2 in April), the construction sector (-1.3 vs -2.8 in April) and the services sector (+33.4 vs +31.7 in April). However, sentiment darkened in the retail sector (+11.8 vs +16.6 in April) and among consumers (-7.6 vs -6.6 in April).
