Estonia: Industrial production shrinks more quickly in May
Latest reading: Industrial production declined 5.3% on a year-on-year basis in May, following a 3.8% decline in the prior month. May’s reading was the weakest since August 2024.
Relative to the prior month’s data, the reading for manufacturing worsened in May (-6.0% on a year-on-year basis vs -3.2% in April). In contrast, the reading for mining and quarrying improved in May (+39.8% vs +15.7% in April).
In seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms, industrial production was down 0.2% in May, following a 1.3% increase in the prior month.
