Euro Area: Industrial production stabilizes in March
Latest reading: Industrial production was up 0.2% in seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms in March, stable from the previous month’s reading.
Relative to the previous month’s figures, figures in March improved for intermediate goods (+0.9% in seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms vs +0.2% in February), capital goods (+1.1% vs +0.8% in February), energy (-1.5% vs -2.1% in February) and durable consumer goods (+0.6% vs -0.3% in February). In contrast, the reading for non-durable consumer goods worsened in March (-4.5% vs +1.5% in February).
On a year-on-year basis, industrial production declined 2.1% in March, following a 0.8% fall in the prior month.
