Euro Area: Industrial production rebounds in February
Latest reading: Industrial production was up 0.4% on a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis in February, following a 0.8% drop in the prior month.
Relative to the previous month’s data, readings in February improved for intermediate goods (+0.5% on a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis vs -1.4% in January), capital goods (+1.0% vs -1.7% in January) and non-durable consumer goods (+2.6% vs -5.0% in January). In contrast, readings worsened for energy (-2.1% vs +5.5% in January) and durable consumer goods (-1.2% vs -1.1% in January).
In annual terms, industrial production was down 0.6% in February, stable from the prior month’s reading.
