Euro Area: Industrial production decelerates in April
Latest reading: Industrial production increased 0.1% in seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms in April, following 0.4% growth in the prior month.
Relative to the prior month’s data, readings in April softened for intermediate goods (+0.8% on a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis vs +0.9% in March) and capital goods (-0.5% vs +1.4% in March). In contrast, readings improved for energy (-0.4% vs -1.8% in March), non-durable consumer goods (+1.7% vs -4.6% in March) and durable consumer goods (+1.0% vs -0.9% in March).
In annual terms, industrial production rose 0.3% in April, following a 2.8% fall in the previous month.
