Germany: Industrial production rebounds in April
Latest reading: Industrial production rose 0.4% on a calendar-adjusted month-on-month basis in April, following a 0.1% decline in the prior month.
Relative to the previous month’s data, readings in April improved for manufacturing (0.0% in seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms vs -0.5% in March) and energy (+0.2% vs -3.3% in March). In contrast, readings softened for mining and quarrying (-8.7% vs -0.6% in March) and construction (+2.4% vs +3.6% in March).
On a calendar-adjusted year-on-year basis, industrial production declined 0.5% in April, following a 3.4% fall in the previous month.
