Hong Kong: Inflation accelerates in May from April
Latest reading: Consumer prices rose 2.0% on a year-on-year basis in May, following a 1.8% increase in the prior month. May’s reading was the strongest since September 2024. Price growth accelerated in electricity, gas and water, transport, miscellaneous services, and miscellaneous goods.
Lastly, consumer prices were stable in May in month-on-month terms, following a 0.09% decline in the prior month.
