Kazakhstan: Inflation decelerates in March from the prior month
Latest reading: Consumer prices were up 11.0% in annual terms in March, following a 11.7% rise in the previous month. March’s reading was the weakest since April 2025.
Relative to the prior month’s figures, there were reduced price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages (+11.7% on a year-on-year basis vs +12.7% in February), transportation (+11.5% vs +11.8% in February), housing and utilities (+5.6% vs +6.9% in February), health (+16.1% vs +16.2% in February) and restaurants and hotels (+13.0% vs +14.0% in February).
Lastly, consumer prices rose 0.62% in March on a month-on-month basis, following a 1.08% rise in the prior month.
