Kazakhstan: Inflation decelerates in April from March
Latest reading: Consumer prices rose 10.6% on a year-on-year basis in April, following a 11.0% increase in the previous month. April’s reading was the weakest since March 2025.
Relative to the prior month’s data, there were milder price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages (+11.2% in annual terms vs +11.7% in March), housing and utilities (+5.3% vs +5.6% in March), health (+14.8% vs +16.1% in March) and restaurants and hotels (+12.0% vs +13.0% in March). In contrast, price pressures were higher for transportation in April (+12.8% vs +11.5% in March).
Lastly, consumer prices rose 0.84% in April on a month-on-month basis, following a 0.62% rise in the previous month.
