Netherlands: Inflation picks up in July from the prior month
Latest reading: Harmonized consumer prices were up 3.0% on a year-on-year basis in July, following a 2.5% increase in the prior month.
Relative to the previous month’s data, there were higher price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages (-0.4% in annual terms vs -0.5% in June), transportation (+8.6% vs +7.1% in June), housing and utilities (+3.4% vs +2.8% in June), recreation (+2.8% vs +2.4% in June) and restaurants and hotels (+5.4% vs +4.5% in June).
Meanwhile, consumer prices rose 3.2% in annual terms in July, following a 2.9% rise in the prior month.
Lastly, harmonized consumer prices rose 1.61% in July in month-on-month terms, following a 0.91% decline in the previous month.
