Poland: Retail sales accelerate in March
Latest reading: Retail sales increased 8.8% on a year-on-year basis in March, following 5.2% growth in the previous month. March’s reading was the strongest since April 2022.
Relative to the previous month’s data, readings in March improved for motor vehicles, motorcycles and parts (+7.7% in annual terms vs +2.7% in February), textiles, clothing and footwear (+13.6% vs +0.8% in February), furniture, radio, TV and household appliances (+7.9% vs +7.2% in February), food, beverages and tobacco (+4.3% vs +0.2% in February) and fuel (+16.2% vs +10.2% in February).
In seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms, retail sales rose 3.3% in March, following a 1.1% drop in the previous month.
