Qatar: Inflation picks up in March from the prior month
Latest reading: Consumer prices were up 4.2% in annual terms in March, following a 2.5% rise in the previous month. March’s reading was the strongest since April 2023.
Relative to the previous month’s figures, there were higher price pressures for food (+8.7% in annual terms vs +2.0% in February), clothing (+5.2% vs +4.2% in February), housing (+1.8% vs +0.7% in February), transport (+0.1% vs -1.7% in February) and recreation and culture (+6.4% vs +4.9% in February).
Finally, consumer prices rose 0.76% in March on a month-on-month basis, following a 0.64% rise in the previous month.
