Thailand: Manufacturing production gains steam in March
Latest reading: Manufacturing production increased 0.8% on a year-on-year basis in March, following 0.1% growth in the previous month.
Relative to the prior month’s data, readings in March improved for food products (+8.5% in annual terms vs +3.8% in February), automotive vehicles (+0.1% vs -1.3% in February) and refined petroleum products (+1.5% vs -6.1% in February). In contrast, readings softened for chemical products (-0.5% vs +4.2% in February) and computer and electronic products (+3.1% vs +10.1% in February).
In seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms, manufacturing output was up 1.8% in March, following a 1.9% fall in the prior month.
