Uruguay: Inflation is unchanged in July
Latest reading: Consumer prices increased 4.3% in annual terms in July, unchanged from the prior month’s reading. July’s reading was the strongest since October 2025.
Relative to the prior month’s data, there were higher price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages (+3.0% in annual terms vs +2.6% in June) and housing (+5.0% vs +4.9% in June). In contrast, there were milder price pressures for clothing and footwear (-5.8% vs -5.2% in June) and transportation (+5.8% vs +7.7% in June).
Finally, consumer prices rose 0.07% in July in month-on-month terms, following a 0.37% increase in the prior month.
