Angola: Inflation eases in April from the prior month
Latest reading: Consumer prices increased 11.6% on a year-on-year basis in April, following a 12.4% rise in the previous month. April’s reading was the weakest since June 2023.
Relative to the previous month’s data, there were reduced price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages (+12.0% in annual terms vs +12.7% in March), transport (+16.5% vs +16.6% in March), housing and utilities (+15.2% vs +15.5% in March) and clothing (+8.5% vs +10.1% in March).
Lastly, consumer prices were up 0.58% in April in month-on-month terms, following a 0.55% rise in the prior month.
