Finland: Merchandise trade returns to a surplus in March
Latest reading: In March, the trade balance was EUR +0.1 billion, following a EUR -0.4 billion reading in the prior month. This was the largest surplus since July 2025. Over the last 12 months, the trade balance summed to EUR -1.6 billion.
Merchandise exports were up 10.1% in seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms in March, following a 3.2% fall in the previous month. March’s reading was the strongest since July 2025. Merchandise imports were up 2.9% in seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms in March, following a 4.2% fall in the prior month.
