Argentina: Inflation accelerates in June from May
Latest reading: Consumer prices rose 33.5% on a year-on-year basis in June, following a 33.2% increase in the prior month. June’s reading was the strongest since August 2025.
Relative to the previous month’s figures, price pressures were higher for food and non-alcoholic beverages in June (+34.4% in annual terms vs +33.4% in May). In contrast, there were milder price pressures for restaurants and hotels (+36.7% vs +37.3% in May) and housing and utilities (+47.8% vs +48.0% in May). Finally, the change in transportation prices was the same as in the prior month (+42.1% in June and May).
Lastly, consumer prices increased 1.89% in June in month-on-month terms, following a 2.15% increase in the prior month.
