Austria: Economic sentiment worsens in April
Latest reading: Economic sentiment fell to 88.3 in April, following March’s 91.7. The latest reading was below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy and it was the lowest since December 2024.
In April, sentiment darkened in the construction sector (-23.5 vs -19.4 in March), the services sector (+0.9 vs +4.7 in March), the retail sector (-5.5 vs +5.3 in March) and among consumers (-24.1 vs -20.4 in March). In contrast, sentiment brightened in the industrial sector (-12.5 vs -12.7 in March).
