Belgium: Industrial production returns to growth in February
Latest reading: Industrial production—excluding construction—was up 1.4% in seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms in February, following a 1.0% decline in the prior month.
Relative to the previous month’s data, the reading for manufacturing improved in February (+1.5% on a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis vs -2.1% in January). In contrast, readings worsened for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (+0.4% vs +8.6% in January) and mining and quarrying (-3.6% vs +4.6% in January).
In calendar-adjusted year-on-year terms, industrial production—excluding construction—rose 7.4% in February, following 6.7% growth in the previous month.
