Bulgaria: Economic sentiment worsens in April
Latest reading: Economic sentiment fell to 94.5 in April, following March’s 97.3. The latest reading was below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy and it was the lowest since May 2022.
In April, sentiment worsened in the industrial sector (-2.6 vs -1.5 in March), the services sector (-1.9 vs +3.7 in March) and among consumers (-25.8 vs -25.5 in March). On the flipside, sentiment brightened in the retail sector (+15.2 vs +13.6 in March). Sentiment in the construction sector was stable from March at +2.0.
