Cyprus: Economic sentiment drops in April
Latest reading: Economic sentiment dropped to 97.6 in April, following March’s 98.9. The latest reading was the lowest since August 2022 and below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
In April, sentiment darkened in the industrial sector (-5.4 vs +2.7 in March), the construction sector (-1.5 vs 0.0 in March), the retail sector (-9.3 vs -1.4 in March) and among consumers (-28.9 vs -26.2 in March). In contrast, sentiment brightened in the services sector (-1.1 vs -10.3 in March).
