Czech Republic: Industrial production shrinks in May
Latest reading: Industrial production was down 0.5% on a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis in May, following a 1.5% rise in the prior month.
Relative to the previous month’s figures, readings in May worsened for manufacturing (-0.4% on a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis vs +1.1% in April) and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (-0.4% vs +4.9% in April). In contrast, the reading for mining and quarrying improved in May (+0.7% vs -4.2% in April).
On a working-day adjusted year-on-year basis, industrial production rose 2.0% in May, following a 1.6% increase in the prior month.
