Czech Republic: Inflation decelerates in June from May
Latest reading: Consumer prices were up 1.5% in annual terms in June, following a 2.1% rise in the prior month.
Relative to the prior month’s figures, there were milder price pressures for transportation (+5.7% in annual terms vs +9.4% in May) and recreation and culture (+2.7% vs +3.0% in May). In contrast, price pressures were higher for food and non-alcoholic beverages in June (+4.3% vs +3.7% in May). Finally, the variation in housing and utilities prices was the same as in the prior month (+1.3% in June and May).
Lastly, consumer prices fell 0.29% in June on a month-on-month basis, following a 0.10% increase in the prior month.
