Romania: Inflation ebbs in June from the prior month
Latest reading: Consumer prices were up 10.4% on a year-on-year basis in June, following a 10.9% increase in the prior month.
Relative to the previous month’s data, there were reduced price pressures for food (+5.8% in annual terms vs +6.8% in May) and non-food goods (+12.3% vs +12.5% in May). In contrast, price pressures were higher for services in June (+13.7% vs +13.5% in May).
Finally, consumer prices were up 0.06% in June on a month-on-month basis, following a 0.58% increase in the prior month.
