Estonia: Inflation accelerates in March from February
Latest reading: Harmonized consumer prices were up 3.5% on a year-on-year basis in March, following a 3.2% rise in the previous month.
Relative to the prior month’s figures, there were higher price pressures for transportation (+6.4% in annual terms vs +0.3% in February) and housing and utilities (+1.9% vs +1.6% in February). In contrast, there were milder price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages (+4.3% vs +5.6% in February), recreation (+1.4% vs +2.5% in February) and restaurants and hotels (+4.0% vs +4.6% in February).
Meanwhile, consumer prices rose 3.6% in annual terms in March, following a 3.1% increase in the previous month.
Lastly, harmonized consumer prices were down 0.04% in March on a month-on-month basis, following a 0.75% increase in the previous month.
