Hungary: Industrial production returns to growth in March
Latest reading: Industrial production increased 3.5% in annual terms in March, following a 0.5% decline in the prior month. March’s reading was the strongest since December 2022.
Relative to the prior month’s data, readings in March improved for manufacturing (+3.7% in annual terms vs -0.2% in February), mining and quarrying (+4.3% vs -8.1% in February) and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning (+0.8% vs -9.8% in February).
In seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms, industrial production rose 3.1% in March, following a 0.7% fall in the prior month.
