Latvia: Inflation eases in April from March
Latest reading: Harmonized consumer prices were up 2.9% in annual terms in April, following a 3.4% rise in the previous month.
Relative to the prior month’s data, there were reduced price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages (-0.3% on a year-on-year basis vs +1.1% in March) and recreation (+1.9% vs +3.3% in March). In contrast, there were more notable price pressures for transportation (+8.8% vs +7.5% in March), housing and utilities (+5.1% vs +4.8% in March) and restaurants and hotels (+5.3% vs +4.0% in March).
Meanwhile, consumer prices rose 2.9% in annual terms in April, following a 3.4% increase in the previous month.
Lastly, harmonized consumer prices were up 0.60% in April in month-on-month terms, following a 1.94% rise in the previous month.
