Netherlands: Industrial production contracts in February
Latest reading: Industrial production—excluding construction—was down 1.3% on a seasonally and calendar-adjusted month-on-month basis in February, following a 1.8% increase in the previous month. February’s reading was the weakest since July 2025.
Relative to the previous month’s figures, readings in February softened for manufacturing (-1.2% on a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis vs +2.0% in January) and water collection and distribution (-0.4% vs +2.7% in January). In contrast, the reading for mining and quarrying improved in February (-4.1% vs -9.8% in January).
On a seasonally and calendar-adjusted year-on-year basis, industrial production—excluding construction—was up 0.2% in February, following a 2.3% rise in the prior month.
