Russia: Inflation is unchanged in March
Latest reading: Consumer prices increased 5.9% on a year-on-year basis in March, unchanged from the previous month’s reading.
Relative to the prior month’s data, there were higher price pressures for non-food goods (+3.5% in annual terms vs +3.2% in February) and services (+10.0% vs +9.9% in February). In contrast, there were reduced price pressures for food and beverages (+5.0% vs +5.4% in February).
Meanwhile, core consumer prices rose 5.0% in annual terms in March, following a 5.2% rise in the prior month.
Lastly, consumer prices increased 0.60% in March on a month-on-month basis, following a 0.73% increase in the previous month.
