Poland: Retail sales decelerate in April
Latest reading: Retail sales rose 1.2% in annual terms in April, following a 8.8% increase in the previous month. April’s reading was the weakest since March 2025.
Relative to the previous month’s figures, readings in April worsened for motor vehicles, motorcycles and parts (+0.8% in annual terms vs +7.7% in March), textiles, clothing and footwear (-9.5% vs +13.6% in March), furniture, radio, TV and household appliances (+1.0% vs +7.9% in March) and food, beverages and tobacco (-5.8% vs +4.3% in March). In contrast, the reading for fuel improved in April (+25.6% vs +16.2% in March).
On a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis, retail sales declined 2.8% in April, following 3.3% growth in the prior month.
