Romania: Economic sentiment declines in April
Latest reading: Economic sentiment dropped to 91.1 in April, following March’s 91.9. The latest reading was below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy and was the lowest since November 2020.
In April, sentiment worsened in the industrial sector (-3.3 vs -3.0 in March), the construction sector (-13.0 vs -12.4 in March) and among consumers (-35.1 vs -32.2 in March). On the flipside, sentiment turned more upbeat in the services sector (-1.5 vs -2.0 in March) and the retail sector (-3.3 vs -4.3 in March).
