Romania: Industrial production contracts less quickly in February
Latest reading: Industrial production was down 0.3% on a working-day and seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis in February, following a 3.0% decline in the prior month.
Relative to the prior month’s figures, readings in February improved for manufacturing (+0.7% on a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis vs -5.1% in January) and mining and quarrying (-2.0% vs -3.0% in January). In contrast, the reading for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply softened in February (-1.7% vs +8.3% in January).
On a working-day and seasonally adjusted year-on-year basis, industrial production declined 1.5% in February, following a 3.5% decline in the prior month.
