Slovakia: Inflation slows in March from February
Latest reading: Harmonized consumer prices rose 3.7% in annual terms in March, following a 4.0% rise in the previous month. March’s reading was the weakest since December 2024.
Relative to the prior month’s data, there were milder price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages (+1.3% in annual terms vs +2.7% in February), recreation (+4.9% vs +6.0% in February) and restaurants and hotels (+5.8% vs +7.1% in February). In contrast, there were more notable price pressures for transportation (+2.1% vs -0.9% in February) and housing and utilities (+9.5% vs +9.2% in February).
Meanwhile, consumer prices increased 3.5% in March, following a 3.7% rise in the previous month.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices rose 0.01% in March on a month-on-month basis, following a 0.12% increase in the prior month.
