Spain: Retail sales recover in March
Latest reading: Retail sales rose 1.2% in working-day and seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms in March, following a flat reading in the previous month. March’s reading was the strongest since February 2025.
Relative to the previous month’s figures, readings in March improved for large chain stores (+0.3% in working-day and seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms vs +0.2% in February), single retail stores (+2.5% vs +0.9% in February) and small chain stores (+2.4% vs +0.3% in February).
On a year-on-year basis, retail sales rose 4.1% in March, following 2.3% growth in the previous month.
