Thailand: Manufacturing production stagnates in February
Latest reading: Manufacturing production stagnated in annual terms in February, following 1.6% growth in the previous month.
Relative to the prior month’s data, readings in February softened for automotive vehicles (-1.3% on a year-on-year basis vs +4.8% in January), computer and electronic products (+10.5% vs +18.5% in January) and refined petroleum products (-4.8% vs +3.7% in January). In contrast, readings picked up for food products (+4.0% vs +2.4% in January) and chemical products (+4.2% vs -1.0% in January).
In seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms, manufacturing output was down 2.3% in February, following a 0.1% increase in the previous month.
