Turkey: Economic sentiment rises in April
Latest reading: Economic sentiment increased to 96.0 in April, following March’s 95.9. The latest reading was below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
In April, sentiment improved in the industrial sector (-2.2 vs -2.3 in March), the construction sector (-15.8 vs -18.6 in March) and among consumers (-15.0 vs -15.4 in March). However, sentiment darkened in the services sector (+18.1 vs +18.3 in March) and the retail sector (+12.9 vs +13.5 in March).
