Latest reading: Retail sales were up 0.7% on a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis in March, following a 0.6% decline in the previous month. The reading beat market expectations and was boosted by motorists stocking up on fuel amid rising prices.
On a year-on-year basis, retail sales were up 1.7% in March, following a 1.9% increase in the prior month.
