Cocoa prices averaged USD 7,603 per metric ton in August, up 3.1% from July. On 29 August, the commodity traded at USD 7,329 per metric ton, down 3.3% from 31 July.
After declining for two straight months, average cocoa prices rose in August as crop disease and adverse weather across West Africa reignited supply fears. That said, concerns over cooling global demand due to elevated prices and tariffs curbed cocoa prices later in the month.
