Cocoa Prices

Cocoa prices averaged USD 5,825 per metric ton in December, up 4.1% from November. On 31 December, the commodity traded at USD 5,976 per metric ton, up 9.0% from 28 November.

Cocoa traded slightly higher month on month, as slowing port arrivals of shipments from Côte d’Ivoire—the world’s largest producer—sparked supply concerns. Still, prices remained notably below their year-to-date average due to more favorable weather in West Africa and an expected bumper crop in the current marketing year.
